The Next Habit Goal: Music Practise

June 11th, 2009

My second experiment to see if the habit creation method in The Power of Less works was a success. For 29 days now I have followed an evening routine, while adding to it in baby-steps once per week (I added baby-steps twice, adding decluttering for 5 minutes and then moving back the time from 12am to 11:55pm, foregoing a third step due to shifting time zones while traveling).

On to the third experiment. This will be Music Practise. As with the first and second ones, I will follow the keys suggested by Leo in The Power of Less.

1. The one habit I will focus on will be music practise.

2. Each day, my goal is to practise music. The trigger will be right after working on my business MIT. The habit consists of:

- practise music for 2 minutes

3. I have posted my goal publicly, here.

4. Every day, I will post on whether I succeeded at my goal that day.

Today was my first day, and it was a success.

This one has gotten me curious - are we talking the piano, saxophone, or stretching your vocal chords?

I’m doing classical vocal training - so practise would currently include voice, some piano, and music theory. (Voice = singing.)
